CBSE’s Proficiency Test Schedule Released

CBSE has officially released the date sheet of its first ever Proficiency Tests question for students who have appeared for their class X examinations in the academic year 2010-11. The Proficiency Tests will take place from the 4th – 8th of July, 2011. These Proficiency tests by CBSE are geared to assess students’ ability to apply their understanding of concepts in Maths, Science, English, Hindi & Social Science in solving everyday problems. These tests will help in providing feedback to students & parents on how well the students have been able to achieve their learning goals, thereby also motivating students to excel in the respective subjects in the higher classes. A detailed schedule of Proficiency Tests by CBSE is as follows-

Date Subject
4th July Mathematics
5th July Hindi
6th July Science
7th July Social Science
8th July English

Each Proficiency Test will be a 21/2 hour long multiple-choice test, of 100 marks. The test  will take place at CBSE’s assigned test centers from 10:30 am to 1 pm. Interest Test, Aptitude Tests & more…! has recently enhanced its Online Personality Development Module. Now all you students can take scientifically designed Interest, Aptitude and Personality Tests to know your strengths & weaknesses and identify your likes & dislikes. The Interest Test by will help you identify your high interest areas from across 14 different areas and will also point towards some of the fields of study/careers that you might enjoy. The scientifically designed Aptitude Tests on will help assess your ability in areas such as Verbal, Numerical, Closure, Spatial, Mechanical, Visual Processing and Reasoning. Apart from the Interest & Aptitude Tests,’s Online Personality Development Module also includes Personality Tests that assess 20 dimensions of your personality and Skill Builder modules designed to help smoothen out the rough edges in your personality. While the Interest and Personality Tests are available for classes VI-XII, the aptitude tests are available for classes IX-XII only.

Aptitude is the buzzword these days in schools. As a part of the ongoing educational reforms, CBSE has recently announced its decision to conduct an Aptitude Test (optional) for students studying in class X. To be called the ‘Students Global Aptitude Index (SGAI)’ this test will be a 21/2 hour long (approximately), paper-pencil test that will help students identify their abilities and interests. The SGAI is intended to be a measure of a student’s skills in areas such as scientific, numerical, social, behavioral science and art aptitude, in addition to assessing a student’s interest areas. The SGAI, it is hoped will help students choose their subjects at the +2 level. The SGAI will be held on 15th January, 2011 across all CBSE schools in India.
